Thanks, that is about my observation too. I calculated awhile back that if I tried to get what I have on most of the day, I'd probably go over the limits for Comcast if they stream in HD. I like to have the TV or news on all day and then watch movies or shows in the evening, but all spooled up on my DVR.

Before I'll cut the cord, I'd really want to know how they handle congestion and if there is any compression. I usually watch football and some of the dance shows (love watching the cute, athletic gals compete) over the air to get less pixelation. But basketball I get over Dish via CSN network so I think there is some compression but the picture is OK with my 10 yr old, 60Hz HD TV....

I'm thinking about getting a 4K, UHD OLED TV and I believe now the way to get the 4K bits to it is via Chromecast or a new DVR. I'm not sure Dish has it yet but I believe I can upgrade to a new DVR that stores 4K and get the content via streaming from sources like YouTube. I think DirecTv is starting to stream some 4K, but I can't verify it.

A lot of the cell services now send data at 480p if you want "unlimited."

It is really hard to get any clear information on compression and quality for the different providers.... so let me know if you find anything good.

Thanks again
