Yes chief a new process which will eventually work for all parties. What many are concerned as this particular project seems to have a lot of threats, intimidation going on behind the scenes.Just this morning my cousin called for second time saying he was at the local Tim Hortons having a coffee and the discussion was on two posters on some chat site. The names he heard was smallcap and Nuclear crystals and both were behind this project being pushed through. It was definately weird to hear this feedback.I am sure he will ask the company representatives at the hearing next week if they are aware of any of these internet stars and what they may have posted. Its not sometimes the project residents are worried about but the people behind them. This appears to be a karma moment going on in real time.

The Canadian Press Pierre Arcand, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, made the announcement on Wednesday in Montreal.
In fact, it has just published a guidance document entitled "To ensure a harmonious coexistence of mining activity with other uses of the territory", which will guide regional county municipalities (RCMs) in this area.
Thus, in an urbanized area, the RCMs will be able to determine exactly what kind of development they want, without being accountable to the ministry, "said Minister Arcand.
In an incompatible territory, municipalities may even include a protective band around these perimeters, which may have a maximum width of 1000 meters in the urbanization perimeters and a maximum of 600 meters around residential areas constructed outside the perimeters urbanization.
And, outside the urbanized perimeters, they will be able to base themselves on a list of criteria to base their decisions. |
