These things are not new to kids, they are taken for granted. They seem new to you because they weren't thought of when you were a kid.

Of course not. If there was stagnation society would quickly die. Stagnation can be threat when order is rigid. The modern tech boom is only one facet of society, and it is relatively accepted as status quo. Resisting or stifling change in other areas is what risks stagnation.
