Estonian is close to Finnish, also a member of the Finnish-Hungarian language group. I have heard from Finns as well as from Hungarian, that 'while at a distance the other language sounds similar, getting closer we don#t understand a word". The structures of the Sami, Estonian, Finnish and Hungarian languages is supposed to be the same and - as you know, quite different from the European languages.
