I was curious what you meant by origin theories. Did you mean abiogenesis, or do you consider common descent to be an origin theory (as in the common descent of pan and homo for example?).

Creationists often lump the two together as origin theories, since the latter is the origin of Man, which is all they really care about. One is an integral part of evolution, the other predates evolution and is not general considered part of evolutionary biology.
