The Big Bang is to the Universe like Evolution is to life on Earth. Neither tries to deal with what came before them. They are both explanations of how the currently observed system changed over history. Both are rock solid in that respect, with overwhelming evidence in support of them. The Big Bang does not attempt to explain what came before, and Evolution does not attempt to explain abiogenesis.
