When looking at a thread header, there is a box where you can put in a date or the # of the post you wish to view.
Go to reply# or date (mm/dd/yy):

When you put in the number 1, to view the first post, it takes you to a list of posts that start with post #2.

(I see posts 2-101..... NOTE - I see 100 posts because that's my setting, others will view the number of posts based on whatever setting they have in their profile 20, 30, 50 etc....at any rate)

I know it's not that big of a deal to select post 2 then hit previous but as a programmer in my previous life, it's these unnecessary key strokes or mouse clicks that appear to be VERY preventable and also tend to reduce the "beauty" of a website.

I know there are bigger fish to fry but this type of code is very sloppy, IMO.

As I've stated before, I'm very appreciative of the efforts made by all the staff at SI and please understand that while this type of "poor coding" is a bit of a pet peeve with me, I won't mention it again, even though I hope it gets corrected somewhere down the road!!

Thanks!
