I wouldn't go so far as to say that IBM made Remedy. Remedy has much tighter integrator/reseller relationships with HP, Sun, and MCI Systemhouse to name a few. IBM is still training people on Remedy. Besides, outsourcers are a pretty pragmatic bunch and don't generally do all that much software pimping of their own stuff if they know another product better. It's certainly been true in the CMS side of the market and even with Tivoli. My gut worries me that if Remedy is using the SA/IBM announcement as an excuse, it was convenient timing and there is something bigger and more frightening behind the scenes.
