I don't necessarily think that you like seeing people suffer, but the whole reason that I am a yellow dog liberal Democrat and have been for 50 years is that I noticed that the Republican Party is more willing to LET people, if not make people, suffer. Democrats don't do that. Everything that's been done for the people has been done by the Democrats not by the Republican Party.
I can give you a couple of concrete examples. Simply start with integration. Not one single liberal voted against that. That should tell you a lot. There were a lot of votes against the 1964 Civil Rights Act, and they were all conservatives. Not one liberal Democrat or liberal Republican for that matter voted against it. Voting against the 1964 civil rights act was evil, that hurt people greatly.
I'll give you another example when Obamacare was enacted, they had a Medicaid program that allowed states to get free medical care for their poorest people for several years with no cost to the state and then it just went to a 90/10 ratio. All of the Democratic governors took it, and most of the Republican governors refused to take it for the simple reason that they wanted to hurt Obama.
Think about that, they let millions of their poorest people go without healthcare, health insurance that they could have had for free for several years just to spite Obama. I am sur emany people died needlessly because of that. That isn't just evil that is the worst kind of evil.
And the only reason we don't have single payer like all other western democracies is the Republicans.
And now the Republicans want to turn medicare over to the insurance cutthroats who will take advantage of the elderly and social security to Wallstreet, who will make a pile off of it and which the people do not want.
Etc,etc!
