This is not a response to your post, whose argument I'll stay away from. I did find two board certified Plastic Surgeons in Corpus Christi who are also Fellows of the American College of Surgeons.

No guarantee they are any better than any of the others, but it does mean they took the time and hassle of going through another screening process, by respected surgeons in their community, before being taken into that organization.

I'll e-mail you their names.

Still, the best way is to get a recommendation of someone "in the know" like another surgeon, an anesthesiologist, or operating room nurse. These aren't infallible, either, but in my experience this is the best recommendation you can get.

Remember, blepharoplasty is one of the commoner procedures done, and not thought of as very challenging. But I think of every operation as potentially serious and with at least a small possibility of a bad result, so I don't blame you for being cautions.
