Trump has done something unforgivable much as FDR supposedly did in the thirties.

He is breaking up the squalid food fight of US elites much as the Brexit movers are doing to UK elites and as the various populists are doing in Europe.

The past forty years of growing economic inequality has led to a far larger number of very rich (the 1%), and educated folk than previously and they are competing for the limited number of positions of power. (A few have manged to expand the number of positions by developing expanded security apparatus, NGOs and think tanks).

What Trump is proposing opens the competition to the lower orders. He has not said it and may well have not thought it, but the outcome is necessarily even more destabilizing than the instability caused by the increase in numbers and good fortune of the present elite and the accompanying misfortune of everybody else.

The greater instability because there is increasing conflict between lower orders and elite.

So the cognitive dissonance of many who are not elite, but think their fortune is tied to the accepted model as espoused by the elites and their institutions, is enormous because they are speaking and acting against their own self interest.

Since we tend to deny our cognitive dissonance by dedicating ourselves - investing our emotions - in only one idea instead of analyzing how the two, or three, or more ideas generate the dissonance, we create anger and bewilderment in ourselves.

That's what majority of anti-Trumpers are doing. I expect they'll continue until they they are tired and can't generate any more anger.

The minority of them are rationally following their self interest and the majority are their foot soldiers.

The inflamed rhetoric of the SJWs and BLMs is necessary to maintain followers' or self's anger.

I think this latest anti Russian flare up thing started out, mostly, as an attempt to have some "kompromat" against candidate Trump - to balance off the avalanche of bad stuff coming out about Clinton. But, gradually, it acquired a momentum of its own, and by now it's dangerous. Lots of crazy stuff going on. Much of our Left, along with many psycho anti-Trumpists - are in a full revolutionary mode, ready to sink the country, as long as it hurts the president they hate. Insane.
