My wife's school does not try to indoctrinate kids into the Catholic faith. I think that's true of almost all Catholic schools now. The teachers aren't usually nuns anymore and the people running the schools aren't priests. There are religious folks at the top but they are pretty much separated from the schools. All the kids have to attend masses, (only during school at times) but they aren't required to get confirmed in the faith. The Main thing they learn is to treat other people well (no bullying allowed) and the subjects being taught. People pay quite a bit of money to attend Catholic Schools and the teachers seem rather dedicated. Also the teachers don't make nearly as much as in the public schools. Like you, I'm not religious, but I think I would have enjoyed attending a Catholic school. Actually, my Father did, and he wasn't religiously inclined either, but he loved it.
