You're missing an important variable when talking about prejudice comparing atheists to African-Americans or any minority for that matter. The problem that the African-American has is that they can't hide. We atheists can hide simply by keeping our mouth shut. It is easy for us to pass for normal which is what we've all been doing throughout history. Hell, most of us are still in the closet. I am old now and feel I need to take one for the team as the Christians can't torture me for too long-lol. And if you think they don't torture people have a conversation with a gay person. They have a very high suicide rate because of the shame they feel because of Christians insisting they are sexual deviants! We liberals don't ever hassle them, it is the "good people"! Even the monolithic Catholic church is still hassling the gays in 2017. Mark Twain wrote his best stuff against the Christian church but was so scared that he would not let his daughter published it until after he was dead. Charles Darwin waited 20 years to release his on the origin of species, because of his fear of the church. If you could see atheists, like you see African-Americans, we would be beneath them. You want logical proof? , we just had a black president, and you know damn well were not gonna be having an atheist president! << I am curious. Have you given your theory to any of your black friends? That atheists are more prejudiced or have suffered more then blacks in this country?
