Scott,

It's been awhile, but I'm back online. In response to your request for opinions as to why buy Vical now...... 1) I consider them a long term (at least 10 years) play in the biotech field and one never know when & why the stock will move, so some sort of position is required (ie.. misery likes company); 2) I have owned them for 35 months & have seen mostly good news during that time, that has not been reflected in the stock price (ie... undervalued); 3) Merck finished their Phase I Influenza clinical in April/1996, has announced nothing, but Vical has sold three licenses for Naked DNA use since these clinicals (ie... the product works to some extent); 4) Vical has a substantial amount of cash (>$40m), a relatively small quantity of shares (around 15m) and a slow burn rate (ie... potential for a move); 6) State of Wisconsin Investment Board owns around 1.43m shares or just over 9% (ie...???); 7) You could check through my posts, if you want for I still believe in what I said in them....

I haven't called IR (Alan Engbring) for awhile, (been a little busy)... I think I will soon & will report back any amazing news...

ttyl

Bill
