Glad to see someone still has an interest in SPCT. I looked at both PWAV and SPCT this summer and almost bought PWAV based on how much of their assets were in cash. I ended up buying SPCT because they had better technology and relationships with OEMs. Unfortunately the day I was going to sell (@ $64) was the day they crashed and burned (dropped 14 points in one day). Lesson learned: If you can't watch your stocks all day at least put in a stop loss order to limit your downside. I turned a 50% return on investment into a 55% paper loss. The recurring theme in most of the articles I have read indicate that 1998 will be another good year for wireless infrastructure equipment manufacturers. Of course this may not translate into a good year for either of these companies in the stock market. To be honest, I think subsciber equipment holds more promise and less risk over the near term. Product cycles are getting shorter and shorter and phones with new features like e-mail and messaging will drive demand (007 movies might help a little too). Wireless infrastruture manufacturers have to rely on a continuing cycle of system deployment and upgrades for growth in sales. When systems are built out, we will see a return to more normal growth rates among these companies. I think one article I read predicted peak investment in system spending to occur around the 1999 or 2000. Any comment or discussion would be appreciated. I still hold 100 shrs of SPCT so any comment on your original topic would also be appreciated.
