Huh? No way, unless they bought near-worthless options that suddenly became very valuable. For example, a stock trades at $30. You buy 400 3-month out $40 call contracts for 25&cent, or $10,000. At the end of three months, the stocks has doubled to $60. You now control 40,000 shares with an intrinsic value of $20, or $800,000. Possible, but damn unlikely, and hugely risky.

Any specifics on how they did it?
