They came up with the name Beatles after some experimenting with other names... they wanted to have a name for their group to compete with the Crickets of Buddy Holly's group... since a cricket is a bug, they thought to use the name Beetle after the bug... but then, they changed the name from Beetles to Beatles to imply they had a beat, so they put beat instead of beet and came up with The Beatles... a musical group with a beat in their name... Yes, time for a pull back, maybe into mid March... just maybe... GZ
