Yes, i7-4700MQ laptop was bought a few years ago and meant to be my backup but ended up her laptop. Interestingly she and my sister got similar HP laptops within a year of each other, forget exactly, maybe 2006 and 2007.

My sister's died in late 2010 (and now recently the laptop bought since has failed), worst of all laptop failures, imo, a short in the motherboard that zapped it. First and only I've ever seen, never say never. My mother's laptop probably should have died a few years ago, and was slow for the final 12-18 months but it finally died almost a year ago. Those laptops ran vista 32bit from start to finish, yikes!

With upgrade to ssd and her modest use, I'm hoping that her current laptop will serve her well for many years. I already upgraded it to 24gb ram, would be 32gb but I'd have to break a keyboard panel and would look unseemly. haha.
