So, that's what the first chart means? It seems like one is about temperature and the other is about how much ice there is. Do they have the same deviation?

How many standard deviations were those temperatures? Does it count forever or what? So, if they get more than 1 that is 3 deviations what does that mean?

I know about normal curves. Is that what is shown in the picture you posted? (1/2 of one?) What does that +/- 2 standards mean? (That "mean" means "mean", not "average"). You know what I mean.

This stuff is so complicated for those of us who aren't experts in it.
