Yousef,
When a corporation becomes to big to support itself due to high
overhead costs then it has lost its efficiency and the shareholders
suffer as their investment dwindles away over time.
As you so accurately pointed out, "Hoping and Praying" that it will
somehow recover its "former" greatness and profit margins is
doing the same as you suggest the investors in AMD and NSM
are doing. Often the biggest returns are made by taking the biggest
risk, anyone can invest and be happy with "ok" returns, but the
largest potential return often lies with the larger risk. Of course
one must weigh the potential losses vs the potential gains, but not
everyone has the vision required for more speculative investing.
