I caught a bit of that piece and they mentioned along the way that they were day-trading. Figure roughly 60 trading days in the qtr, that would seem to say that to get a 100 fold increase in 60 days they were doing a little better than a double every 10 trading days. LLY and MOT were the two stocks they mentioned.

Without knowing their rules, I would wonder if they got charged commissions, which I would think would tilt the odds toward frequent trading. The second place team came in with 850K, third was 700k or something like that so they weren't the only team to do well. One thing is for sure they didn't buy MOT and LLY and just sit on them for 3 months.

But you have to hand it to them whether they were just lucky, or good pickers. Whatever else they got a good learning experience. But then so haven't we all these past couple of months.
