Ron, nice to see someone with gold mining expertise on this thread to bring a different perspecive. Welcome!

Now for your questions:

>> What will the effect on the minority shareholders now that BCE has effectively control of this company? Any ideas? Is this all rosy?

I really don't know, nor am I concerned personally - Nortel (a BCE subsidiary) investors sure seem to do pretty well.

>> They appear to have a solutions for Y2K problems but require contractual arrangements to solidify the relationship and it is my opinion that these solutions are at a premium price due to the upcoming bottleneck (ie: lack of sufficient labor to solve everyone's Y2K problem). Just my opinion

I'm not following your line of questioning. What type "contractual arrangements" are you talking about? Which "solutions are at at premium price"? An interesting opinion but what is your expertise in this area?

By the way, I have been in the IT business for over 25 years and currently manage a Year2000 effort (hence my intense interest in companies with a Y2K angle) so feel free to respond in technical terms.

>> My concerns are that the controlling shareholders now have struck a deal with BCE to sell their shares.

You may be right. As I said above, Nortel shareholders don't seem to be suffering too much. On the other hand, Corel isn't a BCE subsidiary and perhaps Corel shareholders would have been better off if a Jean Monty had been able to oversee the grandiose dreams.

>> This could be the end of the run IMHO.

You could be right - perhaps you should sell.

But keep two things in mind -

1) this isn't a gold mining stock
2) the stock price has been driven up on earnings and acquistions of solid businesses, not Internet hype.
