Re <<Of course, and almost the same applies the other way too. But my main point was that they can defend against and shoot down the supersonic Chinese missiles you posted about a few months ago, and can also be built simply and cheaply by other nations... should war freaks on any side go bat-sh*t psycho.>>
... there be the asymmetry
cruise missiles going the other way have to go very extremely long distance to reach the forbidden city, whereas the taj mahal is literally a stone's throw away from everest
china would not likely waste ballistic missiles on india, when inexpensive cruise missiles would be plenty effective, and because turning off the water should get the necessary attention should such actually be necessary
further, as it turns out, the indian effort is an anti-ballistic missile missile, that which is meant for the simple task of knocking down a ballistic missile on predictable flight path, whereas the china iteration is a hypersonic glide vehicle, that which is naughty and manoeuvres as it closes in w/ express delivery package
no ... war between china and india is in any case off the table, as whatever quarrel between them over no-man's land would probably be papered over w/ some trade deal, and anything else important would be solved by pakistan, a/k/a n.korea south :0)
by the looks of it, the only folks hungry for war reside in washington and moscow, as they are so busy engaged in fights all over the planet |
