You're right, I'm thinking the same thing... BUT, as Qualified Opinion posted to me yesterday, banks don't operate in a vacuum... although, a declining stock market doesn't automatically mean the economy is weak, it just means the market had already priced in the economic improvement, this way banks would surely benefit greatly with higher rates... although bank stocks may still decline with the overall market if that were to occur...

So, banks themselves may do better but not so for their stocks...
