Agreed,

but there is a solution in the works.

AC to DC back to AC converters to get ERCOT power out of Texas's grid which has in the recent past been "Islanded" from surrounding grids outside the state to surrounding states.

Texas's grid is not in phase with surrounding grids most of the time.
