As estimated by the IPCC Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) "there is high confidence that ECS is extremely unlikely less than 1°C and medium confidence that the ECS is likely between 1.5°C and 4.5°C and very unlikely greater than 6°C." [4]

CO2 (ECS) sensitivity is the unknown. We won't know exactly how much doubling CO2 will raise temperatures until after we double CO2. So far, CO2 spiked at around 407 or so; double pre-industrial is 560. Temperatures spiked to 1.51 degrees above baseline a year ago.
