I don't know who estimated that but it is absurd.

Markets, if left alone, will take care of the problem, if there is one. Tesla is a great example: Someone saw the opportunity, jumped on it, and has created a new industry from it. Of course, the government should not be subsidizing it as is evidenced by the backlog. That should be done away with at once.

But these things happen over time. I was thinking about electric vehicles in the 60s and have always thought they would be great. Now, there is pretty decent technology and brilliant people to make it happen; you just have to make them have a smaller carbon footprint if that bothers you.

You would do better spending your time on more serious problems, really. This one just isn't a real problem.
