You don't seem to grasp that profit has next to nothing to do with it. The only difference is that a for-profit outfit has to earn a few percent more than a non-profit to show a profit. There are only so many ways to write policies. They don't vary conceptually between profit and non-profit insurers. They might vary a bit on price. You can choose a non-profit if the notion of profit offends you.

Now you're just ranting. That has absolutely nothing to do with anything we've discussed, neither underwriting or insurer profit or no profit. That's an issue with the law that enabled employers to offer health benefits in lieu of salary.
