I'd love to cut the cord to cable TV,

Anybody else been down this road?

Depends upon what connections you have in the back.

If it's flat screen that is not like one of the first ones you probably have all the connections you need.

I bought a separate Apple TV box (there are others),subscribed to Netflix (Amazon or Hulu are other possibilities) and of course can view internet stuff.

For broadcast TV, I have an amplified flat antenna.

But then my family is not addicted to sports or specific channels.

Now you still need an internet provider...

When I got FIOS, I turned down the "$10 additional/month" TV offer...
