TSE 300 Notice was posted on Canada NewsWire after 5pm Fri Jan 2/98
(www.newswire.ca/releases/January1998/02/c0114.html):

-- dropping the shares of Caledonia Mining (CAL); Hyal Pharma. (HPC) and William Resources (WIM) from the TSE 300 Composite for failing to meet the index maintenance policy;

-- adding the shares of CGI Group (GIB.A) to the Technology & Software group; Paramount Resources (POU) to the Oil & Gas Producers and SouthernEra to the Gold & Precious Minerals group.

The changes are effective before the open on Fri Jan. 16/98.
