Attention Business Editors:

LUMINART AND SVECIA GROUP ANNOUNCE STRATEGIC ALLIANCE AND NEW LUMINITE MANUFACTURING ENHANCEMENT

MISSISSAUGA, Ont., Sept. 26 /CNW/ - Luminart Inc. announced today that a
strategic alliance has been formed with Svecia Group of Norsborg-Stockholm,
Sweden, a globally recognized, leading manufacturer of quality screen printing
machines, dryers, pre-press and ancillary equipment.
Svecia will be manufacturing curing equipment specific to the Luminite
manufacturing process. The equipment will complement the existing Luminart
System 4000 application equipment, enabling efficient, high volume production
of Luminite signs and displays. This new curing equipment, with a retail price
of C$64,000, will be proprietary to Luminart and manufactured by Svecia. It
will be marketed exclusively by both companies throughout the world with
Luminart receiving revenue from every unit sold. The Luminite equipment and
Svecia screen printing equipment will also be bundled in order to offer a
complete turnkey operation to customers.
The two companies will work together to enhance the marriage of screen
printing and Luminite technology for the combined product performance and
improved Luminart process efficiencies. This is significant in that screen
printing technology is an integral part of the Luminite manufacturing process.
Luminite can be applied to screen printed panels to create vibrant, high
impact signs and displays.
Cross marketing activities will enhance the opportunities for both
companies. The advantages of the new curing equipment and the combined
equipment programs will be publicized through trade shows, advertising and
customer communications. Svecia will benefit from a new process adding to the
capacity usage of existing customer equipment as well as the creation of new
capacity needs. Luminart is expected to greatly benefit from exposure to the
Svecia global customer base through the company's sales agents.
In the screen print industry, Svecia has a strong performance record of
service and technological leadership dating back to 1948. In addition to the
plant in Sweden, the company has business units and subsidiaries located in
France, Germany, Spain and Hong Kong, Switzerland, Italy and the U.S. This
worldwide distributor network makes Svecia one of the largest suppliers to the
worldwide screen print industry.
This project has been championed by Svecia USA, Inc. president, Jan Van
Schaik, who stated ``We are excited about the potential of this new product as
it is expected to correspond to the growing success of Luminite.''
Luminart President and COO, Bob Hill, stated ``We are obviously very
pleased to be affiliated with Svecia Group, a leading global player with an
excellent reputation for quality product and innovation. The Svecia
relationship offers Luminart customers a more cost efficient method of
manufacturing Luminite signs and therefore increased market opportunities.''
Mr. Hill went on to say ``This is an essential element of our long term growth
plans. It is our strategy to be more than a vendor. Luminart expects to
provide high value added to our customers. This relationship substantiates
what Luminart can bring to the table for its customers.''
Luminart Inc. is an emerging growth technology company supplying the
worldwide sign and display industry with its revolutionary new product
Luminite. A fluorescent acrylic gel, Luminite is applied to the sign surface
with Luminart's CAD/CAM, automated sign making SYSTEM 4000. Once the Luminite gel is dispensed, it hardens into a durable plastic which glows with distinctive brilliance when fluorescent light is directed through it. Luminite signs and displays are more versatile, more durable, and capable of handling many more graphic designs than alternative products.
Luminart's common shares are traded publicly on the O-T-C Electronic
Bulletin Board in the United States under the symbol LUMNF and on the Canadian Dealing Network in Toronto, Canada under the symbol LUMN.
