The actions needed to avoid 3rdWorldization are ugly and unpopular and a great part of the public opinion -fuelled by TV networks targetting that audience, which is a big- are against them. Populism is exactly that: Being popular all the way to the bottom of the rat hole, supported by the ignorant masses- and Argentina -which was richer than Switzerland at the beginning of last century- is there to prove.
