I have seen policy terms that I thought were stupid, but I have never once seen an insurance company refuse to pay according to the terms of its policy. The major insurance companies in this country don't show signs of greed. Unlike the government, they are careful with their money and don't pay claims that shouldn't be paid. When I see a comment like the one you made it is beyond obvious to me that someone is cluelessly repeating the BS they heard on CNN or read about in The New Yorker.
