Finland played a classic double game in WW2. Cooperated with Nazis to regain lands grabbed by the Soviets during the 1939-40 Winter War. Compelled to turn against Hitler in the 1944-45 Lapland War. Desperate strategy for a small player caught between superpowers allowed Finns to retain independence. The Jewish soldiers ostensibly allied with the Nazis are a minor but interesting footnote.
