Beyond Mobileye: The Other Major Players In The Driver-Assist Tech Space

Monday's announcement that Intel ( INTC) would acquire Israel's Mobileye ( MBLY) in a $15 billion deal intensified the already intense spotlight shining on the industry driving autonomous vehicle technologies.

Mobileye has been a clear leader in that space, partnered with Intel and with names including BMW, Google, Apple, Tesla and Uber also pushing the development envelope.

Intel projected Monday that vehicle systems, data and services would grow to a $70 billion annual market by 2030. Much of that market at this stage is called automated driver assist systems, or ADAS. Mobileye gives Intel a boost in keeping pace with other chipmakers moving fast into that same market.
