David, >>O'Shaughnessy uses this pattern to guide one of his four mutual funds,O'Shaughnessy Cornerstone Growth. The fund, which is about a year old, was up 26.8 percent for the year through Dec. 22<<

The article makes a lot of excellent points but I wanted to share my thought on O'shaughnessy's Cornerstone Growth fund. I read "What works on Wall Street" and was very impressed by his analysis and approach, so I invested last May when it was at 11.5 and put more in a later later at 12.5, and the funds NAV went to 15 somethime in the fall. However after October it went into a decline as small & midcap just couldn't hold on. I sold all this week at 11.46 because I was disappointed in the overall earnings and felt there were better places for my investment for the time being. My other Fidelity and Vanguard funds recovered after the October crash.

There was a post recently on one of the other threads that said O'Shaughnessy is over rated by the press (wish I could remember where I found it to reference it here), and I now tend to agree.
