Skipper, my own personal belief is that Microsoft products provide the common platform needed by the PC industry because of their own unethical, monopolistic business practices, not because of the quality of those products. That is why, in fact, Compaq filed a complaint against them in the first place. Gates is notorious for bringing out products with bugs in them, for example, just to be first, and then fixing the problems later. On the other hand, Apple totally destroyed a superior product with inept business practices.
I got a Microsoft game for Christmas, incidentally, Age of Empires, and it is just horrible, including the animation and everything else--very boring. My whole family tried to play it and almost fell asleep at the computer. Do you know anything about this game? Maybe I am missing something. |
