3/17/2017 Contest update
Here’s an example of why predicting drug revenues is extraordinarily difficult. You’d think the threat of “No-dong” would boost sales of Viagra but, as this article makes clear, Xanax revenues are a more likely beneficiary:

Meanwhile, at Friday’s close, the Contest median managed another weekly gain and is now up 19.54% YTD (vs. up 18.40% YTD a week ago). However, both the Nasdaq Biotech Index (NBI), now up 11.31% YTD (vs. up 13.46% YTD a week ago) and the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index (SPSIBI), now up 20.07% YTD (vs. up 20.82% YTD a week ago), were down for the week. The Nasdaq Composite Index (NCI) closed up 9.62% YTD (vs. up 8.89% YTD a week ago).
Another party week for TGTX propelled Contest leader TOMP’s portfolio to a phenomenal 61.70% YTD gain. BIOADD’s portfolio, up 48.45% YTD, barely managed to hold second place over third place BRANKO’s portfolio, up 48.20% YTD.
At Friday's close, 46 of the 48 Contest portfolios were still in the green, with 34 beating the NBI and 21 beating the SPSIBI.
The 195 Contest portfolio stock picks have an average YTD gain of 17.77% and a median YTD gain of 8.57%, with 124 of the 195 picks up for the year.
Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks for the week ranked by % Gained and % Lost YTD. (Prices not converted to US$ in these Tables.)
Portfolio adjustments: None
(All corrections, especially adjustments for splits, greatly appreciated.)
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Enjoy a March Madness weekend biotechies!
Peace & good health,
Bulba
