Nevada Concealed Carrier Stops Vehicle Burglars

Posted at 9:06 am on March 16, 2017 by Beth Baumann

Last week, a young man only identified as “Ryan,” helped police officers in Cottonwood Heights, Nevada locate robbers who were responsible for a number of vehicle burglaries.

At 4a.m., Ryan heard loud noises outside of his home. He saw a number of interior car lights on. He called 9-1-1 and decided to investigate while deputies were en route.

“A homeowner was awakened by a noise in his driveway, walked out and saw two guys burglarizing his vehicle, confronted them with his weapon, and held them at bay,” Chief Robby Russo of the Cottonwood Heights Police told FOX 13. “The bad guys threatened to call the police on him, and he said, ‘That’s great, I already called them’ and just then the officer is driving down the street–they take off running.”

One suspect was taken into custody once officers arrived on scene. His accomplice got away but police say they know who he is. They anticipate the accomplices arrest in the near future.

“I’m happy to help, you know, and like I say I’ll do it again: I don’t like liars or thieves,” Ryan, a concealed carry permit holder, told FOX 13.

The suspect’s car was taken into custody as well. It had a number of stolen items from nearby neighbors.
