You must really be a die-hard if you tape the games!

I am a huge local high school basketball fan. I watch our local kids home and away where possible (i.e. not traveling). We didn't even make the playoffs this year (top 8), but we beat the team that won the league championship. That team won three OT games in a row, and likely should have lost all three. It just reinforces to me how crazy a game basketball is to predict for just one game. That's why I discount strength of conference and instead look at team defense and 3-point efficiency, the great equalizer for those of us with teams of white kids who can't jump. Contrast that to track and field where every kid in every heat in every race has the exact same chance to succeed, and are therefore actually pretty easy to predict.
