I mentioned El Paso because it is over 80% hispanic, out which 96 percent is mexican american. It is a fairly big city. So if one wants to make a blanket statement about tendency of mexican-american towards violent crime, El Paso will be a good data point to test the theory.

Here is some information about the hispanic (and mexican) population distribution in US metropolitan areas.

Laredo, Texas is another city with over 90% mexican population. And the violent crime rate is low very close to that of El Paso at 379/100,000 population.

El Centro California - Over 80% mexican - violent crime rate is 373/100,000

Las Cruces, New Mexico - About 65 % Mexican origin - 283/100,000

It is difficult to find other metropolitan areas in US with higher mexican origin population.

Pittsburgh - 706/100,000
Cincinnati - 925/100,000
Buffalo - 1118/100,000

Wow! I did not expect this much difference. These cities need more mexican immigrants!
