Well, actually her name was Rex lol! Long story is that the tenants upstairs owned a corner store and, in lieu of payment for a case of beer, one of the customers gave them a puppy. They named her Lena (the store was called Depanneur Lena), brought her home and didn't have a clue how to deal with her puppy cries and mess.

Being an animal lover, I offered to take care of the pup for them. My husband, not exactly being the animal loving type, said that he didn't think Lena was a proper dog name and promptly decided that she'd be re-named Rex. I decided to feminize it to Rexy:)

So there she was, all golden bodied, warm and puppylicious and she followed my every movement with her rootbeer coloured eyes. She looked so dejected when reprimanded. The last letter of the alphabet for us Canadians is pronounced "zed" instead of "zee", so Zeddie she became:)

To me, she was always Zeddie, although she'd answer to Rexy or Lexy (my mom being Chinese couldn't pronounce the "r" lol!)

Oh, I miss her so...
