Those are permanent cable systems which are used all day long. It takes hours to charge cars and another car comes along soon after one leaves. It's permanent. I guess you can't see the hazard in those photos and how much safer a cable permanently fixed on the ground and protected would be.

Halo is safe as houses GG. It seems you just don't WANT it to be used for some reason.

Whether it's economic is another matter. Many companies charge like a wounded bull for their equipment so nobody buys it and they go bust. See Globalstar for example.

A 2 kilowatt induction cooker for my kitchen was about $40 retail, so 6 kilowatts, or maybe 10 kilowatts, for the shed floor shouldn't be much more. Similar cost for the on-board item would mean total cost of something like $1000 including the large device for providing the electricity to the floor coil, but I haven't seen prices.

The onboard coils are not very heavy either, so it's not like a big load to carry around. No more than a boot full of cable and much more convenient. Especially in windy, wet, and cold weather.
