Hey Lee. Happy New Year to you too. Sorry Ive been off for so long- you know how the holidays can get.

Anyways, I suppose you saw what happened yesterday. They even mentioned the concern about future growth beyond the next few quarters which is also my concern. I think Im still going to hold as the stock will benefit from Guidant's earnings and then a couple of landslide quarters in a row. I dont see myself holding AVE much beyond mid-1998, though.

As far as the CEO leaving- well Im sure he could retire a happy, wealthy man if he wanted to. He accomplished everything he wanted at AVE- gave shareholders a great return and developed and recieved approval for the company's products. In all, there is really not much more for him to accomplish there. I dont blame him for leaving.

In a general sense, what is your outlook for 1998? Do you see the January effect taking place and what sectors are you looking at these days? In any case, Happy Investing!
