A comment on AMZ - did they have a contract in the first place or were they posturing thru the media to get one? Various people have suugested that AMZ has not been re-negged on since it wasn't a done deal. But this is making Zaire look dangerous again. AMZ has had problems w/ this gov't for some time. Boulle's plane was offered to Kabila during the revolt and became impounded. So AMZ didn't seem to get of on the right foot and have never regained balance.
TNK is increasing reserves and it would appear on the surface that DRC wants more of the pie - since reserves are increasing. What was the deal originnaly regarding new reserves?

DRC is looking for cashflow and because FM is showing they can do this - as suggested - they may have a better relationship w/ DRC down the road. FM also has people in Zambia w/ connections for some time. So they are not coming cold into DRC - they know how to negotiate and what will work etc.
