I'm no technical expert but I believe that Cyrix has tweaked the design to get speeds comparable to the Pentium....when you take into consideration the audio and video.
You also have to remember that notebooks are high priced and high margin. Considering a MediaGXm system could cost $600-$800 less than
comparable mobile PentiumMMX notebook. Spread this out over the thousands that big coporations buy and they make a lot of sense...
I might buy a MediaGX notebook...but I will never buy another $3000 notebook...mine was obsolete when I bought it and after 2 years, virtually a throw away. That's the problem. I'll take a little less power and a lot less cost. That's the market.
