Hopelessly uneconomic - a three man job to clamber around on a house roof installing one little panel. Installing hundreds at ground level would be a LOT cheaper, more easily maintained with large economies of scale. It's like planting corn at home. Yes, you can go to a store, buy a little bag of seeds at retail price, till a little patch of land at home where land is expensive, and fiddle around getting a few cobs of corn. Or giant soil preparation, planting, irrigation and harvesting machinery can do it for a fraction of the cost where it should be done.
