"Driving my FIAT 124"

Your mention of the 124 sure brings back memories. When I was working in NYC in the late '70's and dating my future wife, a friend of my brother gave me his 124 Spider. I kept it at my parents house in the suburbs and used it weekends. What a trip! When visiting my fiance I used to park it on the hill at her apartment complex in cold weather because I knew it would not start, so a roll down the hill and popping the clutch with the trans in 1st would do the trick. Raining? The headlights would dim when I turned on the wipers and at night I could see sparks under the dash! Hot? Don't get stuck in traffic as you could then watch the temp gauge make it way into the red.... On a country road with no traffic and a warm day, it was fun. In time I graduated to cars like the Nissan 300ZX, a nice sporting machine with none of those problems. I still fondly remember that Fiat, though!
