"Humor is not an unconditional virtue; its moral character depends on its object. To laugh at the contemptible, is a virtue; to laugh at the good, is a hideous vice. Too often, humor is used as the camouflage of moral cowardice." Ayn Rand

As much as I appreciate Ayn Rand, she was wrong here by equalling laugh with humor 1:1. Sometimes people laugh for other reasons, like when they enjoy their enemy to get into trouble or just in order to cover their own insecurity.

Thus, laugh is not necessarily the equivalent of humor.
