Since someone brought up the UConn women a few night's ago (I forgot who), recall their 111 game streak was broken by MS State's buzzer beater in OT. Said game was immediately hailed as the biggest upset in the history of women's college basketball. One slight problem-- this was a semifinal. Comparisons were made that the Miracle on Ice vs Russia in the Olympics, also a semifinal, would never have been remembered as the biggest upset in sports history had the US not come back and beaten, umm, whoever they beat in the finals... so let's not be premature. Well, you guessed it-- MS State got soundly beaten by South Carolina earlier tonight. The hero of the semifinal game was on the bench the entire fourth quarter, totally out of gas.

Hey, unlike the Canadian provinces, like Wisconsin, or you guys in those oversize states out west, we in tiny little CT, which is about 1% of the land mass of the US, take pride in our 1%. Things that most states take for granted. You know, like the fact that our 1% own 99% of the wealth. What, you thought I was going to say women's college basketball? Shirley you jest.
